A decade at Dusk Wave Arts has passed, and we want to look back on how far we have come. DWA was born in 2014 and hit the ground running. In the same year, The Glove was released, followed by multiple mobile games and an additional comic named Criminal King, which kept us busy for a long while. No longer a nascent studio, 2019 proved to be an equally defining year. We added audio, such as Music and dialogue, to The Glove, ensuring audiences from diverse backgrounds and invisible disabilities might enjoy their favorite titles. Later in that year, we took the plunge, transforming Dusk Wave Arts into a complete remote studio! We never looked back because the freedom of remote work was a catalyst that propelled our teams’ performance and confidence.
The most important thing we developed across this decade was our identity. We established our values and goals and defined our vision as an organization. Dusk Wave Arts prioritizes impactful storytelling, a people-focused culture, and global collaboration. This combination strengthens our foundations in indie game development and comic production—two distinct fields that require creativity, dedication, and steadfast teamwork. Through this, we prioritize ideas and decisions that ensure the well-being of our global staff members, and in turn, ensure the success of each project at DWA.
2024 has been a landmark year for Dusk Wave Arts. After a decade, we are still reaching new heights as an in art studio! The industry has seen many changes over the last two years, and DWA has stood strong and even expanded our team in the past two years! To celebrate our history and recent growth, DWA’s Philippines Team gathered in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig for a day of team bonding and future planning. Meanwhile, in Vancouver, members of the Canadian Team also met up to celebrate our 10-year milestone together. We are so lucky to work alongside such warm, intelligent people from around the globe.
Looking ahead, we’re very optimistic about the next 10 years. With a clear vision set and our core values guiding us, DWA now stands on a firm foundation. We are held together by a diverse team united by a single vision and common goals. We’re not afraid to fail to later get things right! If we learned anything from the years passed, it is to not compromise on our core vision. Equally, goal setting, testing, feedback generation, and strategy validation are key ingredients to our studio’s future success.
It has been a privilege to spend 10 years doing what we love! We look forward to another decade, sharing more stories that bring value to our audiences’ lives. Behind the scenes, we’re working on some exciting new titles driven by our values and passion. We can’t wait for you to see them, and we hope you continue to support us as we go through this exciting journey!
