Coming This September: Everything You Need to Know About Stuck in the Present So Far!

Jul. 29, 2025

Stuck in the Present drops in just one more month! Whether you’ve been following the project since day one or just discovered it, now’s the perfect time to dive into what this game is all about.

At its core, Stuck in the Present is an indie psychological horror game that highlights an impactful story through a 3D side-scrolling experience. Set in a seemingly normal but deeply twisted subway in Toronto, Canada, the game puts players in the shoes of childhood friends Faye and Rich, who must navigate distorted tunnels and confront horrors from an unresolved,  forgotten past in the Philippines to escape the haunting vision that trapped them there.

Expect a mix of exploration, genuine immersive experience of anxiety, and a wave of Filipino nostalgia with a soundtrack and atmosphere that’ll leave you completely immersed.

Stuck in the Present participated in Steam Next Fest 2025 and was presented on the Mega Stage of Game Con Canada 2025. Getting to introduce this game to millions of people worldwide is an accomplishment of its own for our team and we’re thrilled with everyone’s response so far!

Voice Actor Spotlight: Angel Flaviano as Young Faye

Angel Mykhelle Flaviano brings young Faye to life, you’ll hear her leave a lasting impression and give us an insight to who our main character was back in the Philippines. We caught up with Angel totalk about their experience recording and stepping into the Stuck in the Present universe.

Q: When voicing Young Faye, did you approach her like a version of yourself as a child, or someone totally different?

Angel: I think I can say I can relate to Young Faye when I was a kid to some wavelength so that’s what I channeled when voicing her lines. It’s easy to empathize with her wanting what she thinks is a version of a complete family and her wanting to understand.

Q: Was it weird or cool hearing your voice in a creepy game like this?

Angel: It’s surreal! I have always been a fan of the horror/psychological genre and to be a part of something I have enjoyed as a kid feels like a dream come true!

Q: What did you imagine was going on around her, even if it wasn’t in the script?

Angel: I envision it to be overwhelming and confusing for Young Faye. They’re thrust into a cult that twists their beliefs and to be thrown into the hot mess of things… it’s definitely scary.

Q: Was there a scene or line that felt especially sad, strange, or powerful to perform?

Angel: I think this would particularly be during the parts where Young Faye is with her mother. The most difficult line to perform for me would be Young Faye screaming for her mother. I feel like it was the most guttural scene for me.

Q: If young Faye had the chance to speak freely, without overwhelming fear, what do you think she’d want to say?

Angel: I would think she’d express her longing for a big, warm family. These were inner thoughts she’s been longing to express and for someone to understand.

You’ll get to hear young Faye in full when the game launches. Stay tuned, we’ll also be dropping a behind-the-scenes Q&A with adult Faye very soon!
